Royal Motor Yacht Club

Dress Code

We want our club to be a relaxed and sociable place where members and their guests can always enjoy their visit.  Our general dress code is, therefore, designed to help everyone take a sensible approach to this issue, and we hope the following guidelines will help:

  • Shirts for men must have collars and sleeves (long or short) and can incorporate a small logo or insignia. However, clothes with large or offensive slogans should be avoided.
  • Respectable shorts and T-shirts (with sleeves) may be worn in the bar between 1 April to 31 October, but never in the restaurant.
  • Smart jeans and chinos are acceptable but dirty, torn, ‘distressed’ or ripped clothing are not.
  • Visible swimwear or underwear is not acceptable.
  • Footwear should be clean; smart flip-flops are acceptable (but not in the restaurant after 1800).
  • Hats in the clubhouse, bare feet and wet gear are not allowed in the club house.
