Community Support

The Royal Motor Yacht Club is centrally placed in the local community and knows it is important to help both local charities and national organisations.

The level of support ranges from the donation of premises and Club facilities to allow organisations to hold fundraising events, through to storage of boats and the use of landing facilities. We also arrange harbour litter picks and take part in the harbour wide Harbour Watch to help safeguard boats on swinging moorings throughout the harbour.

The Commodore’s Charity is Routes to Roots which helps homeless, newly-homed and vulnerably-housed adults in Poole.  We raise money through raffles and various events over the year.  Most recently one of our staff, together with four members, cycled around the Isle of Wight which raised over £6,000 for the charity.

In addition, we support the Poole branch of the Royal Life Saving Society by providing a secure storage facility for their RIB ‘Legacy’, and have helped the Brownsea Island National Trust for many years by providing access to the club’s facilities which enables boats and services to be easily transferred to and from the Island.
