Information Pack & Application Forms Now Available
Sail Training Week (STW) is designed to introduce children to the joys of sailing and foster their interest in water-based sports and activities. The training aims to teach juniors (under 16) and youths (under 19) through either a Beginner’s Course or RYA Start Sailing Stages 1, 2, 3, or 4, using a variety of single-handed and two-handed dinghies. The minimum age for participants is 8 years, in accordance with RYA guidelines. Additionally, a Dinghy Instructor Course is available for the youth age group (16 and over, including parents). This course involves assisting with instruction in the morning and receiving coaching in the afternoon.
The fee for 2025 is £235 per child.
Members who would like their children or young relatives to participate are asked to return the Application Form by Friday 6th June 2025 at the latest.
We are always extremely grateful to our volunteer helpers who make STW such a success. We welcome any member willing to assist, either on the water (as safety or support boat crew) or on land (in roles such as tuck shop or reception).
For parents not yet qualified or experienced as a safety helm or crew, there is an opportunity to participate as a ‘safety helper.’ This role involves being the third person in the safety boat, providing a chance to gain valuable experience from a qualified safety crew.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact the office: 01202 707227 or email: enquiries@rmyc.co.uk
We look forward to another fantastic Sail Training Week!
