Race Management & Volunteering

The RMYC Race Series relies on Club volunteers who give up their time to help with gun deck and RIB patrol boat duties.  We literally couldn’t do it without them so we are always keen to hear from anyone who can help.

Most volunteers on the gun deck don’t need any previous racing experience and they will be given plenty of training before racing starts.

The Race Officer, however, does need some experience of yacht racing, in order to provide a course that will ensure everyone enjoys some competitive racing whilst finishing in a reasonable time.

For RIB race patrol duty, the RIB driver must have RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate.
