Sail Training Week

Our Sail Training Week has been a popular feature in the club’s calendar for over 30 years and, since then, around 2,000 children have benefited from this training.

Sail Training Week – Monday 27th to Friday 31st July 2026.

Open to children (8–16) and youths (up to 19), the programme combines fun, friendship, and nationally recognised RYA training courses.

Participants can join at any level, from a Beginner’s Course to RYA Start Sailing Stages 1–4, learning everything from basic boat handling to more advanced sailing techniques. For those ready to go further, a Start Racing module and a Dinghy Instructor course (age 16+) are also available. Open to Cadet and Family Members (membership options available)

STW is not only about gaining qualifications, it’s about building confidence and enjoying the unique experience of sailing in Poole Harbour’s tidal waters.

We are pleased to advise the 2026 Sail Training Week pack is now available here. Please ensure all application forms are returned to the office by Friday 5th June.

Volunteers required.  We are always pleased to hear from anyone who can help us run this week – either afloat (safety or support boat crew) or ashore (tuck shop, reception, etc).
